Teluk Likas Viral On Twitter
The Teluk Likas region has recently garnered significant attention due to a series of incidents that have gone viral. A major issue was the enormous amount of garbage that accumulated on Teluk Likas beach. This problem became widely known after a video showing the littered beach was shared online, sparking outrage and concern among the public.
In response, the Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) launched an extensive cleanup effort. This operation involved 18 trips to the landfill and numerous workers dedicated to clearing the beach of debris washed up by recent floods. The cleanup highlighted the severity of waste management issues exacerbated by natural events in the area.
Moreover, another incident that captured public interest was the capture of a crocodile in a drain along Teluk Likas Jalan Tun Fuad. The seven-foot-long crocodile was spotted by members of the public and subsequently captured by the Fire and Rescue Department. Remarkably, this was the second such capture in the area within a week, underscoring potential wildlife management challenges in the region.
These events underscore ongoing environmental and safety challenges in Teluk Likas, ranging from waste management problems intensified by frequent flooding to the complexities of handling wildlife in urban settings. The situation calls for sustained and coordinated efforts to address these multifaceted issues to ensure the well-being and safety of the community and the environment.
